Dr. Andrea Pezzella founded Southern Urogynecology, The Center for Incontinence and Female Pelvic Medicine in 2010. Her center is a unique, state-of-the-art practice exclusively designed for women with female pelvic disorders and urinary issues.
Southern Urogynecology is the first and only center of its kind in the Midlands to offer a variety of treatments for pelvic floor disorders such as pelvic organ prolapse and urinary symptoms including urinary frequency, urgency, nighttime voiding, and incomplete emptying as well as cosmetic gynecology.
The practice is also a full service medical spa offering laser treatments, facials, body toning and tightening treatments and injectables.
Dr. Andrea Pezzella earned her medical degree at St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed her Residency training at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Board certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. In 2000, she joined the Fallon Clinic in Worcester, MA, and was instrumental in developing their Urogynecology program. Dr. Pezzella served as co-founder and director for seven years before relocating to a private practice in Columbia, SC. During that time, she continued to pursue advanced training on surgical techniques for pelvic floor reconstruction and urinary incontinence. In 2010, Dr. Pezzella founded Southern Urogynecology as the only center of its kind to exclusively address urogynecology issues. With over 20 years of experience managing and treating urinary and female pelvic disorders, Dr. Pezzella is committed to building Southern Urogynecology to affectively address these issues and better serve the women with all of their female issues and referring physicians in the region.
Dr. Andrea Pezzella is married to Dr. Vince Vismara, an Interventional Cardiologist at Prisma Health in Columbia, and they have two children, Isabella, 21 and Luke, 18. She enjoys physical fitness, skiing, paddle boarding, the beach, traveling and time with the family.
